Mie is a long, narrow prefecture stretching approximately 80 kilometers east to west and 170 kilometers north to south. It is divided into five regions: Northern (Yokkaichi City, Kuwana City, etc.), Central and Southern (Tsu City, Matsusaka City, etc.), Ise-Shima (Ise City, Shima City, etc.), Iga (Iga City, Nabari City), and Eastern Kishu (Owase City, Kumano City, etc.).
