Hiroshima has Chugoku mountains in the north and the Seto Inland Sea in the south. The northern part has cooler temperatures and more rainfall, and snow can accumulate in winter. The southern part is mild and rainfall, with many sunny skies throughout the year. Since cities with large populations such as Hiroshima City, the prefectural capital, Fukuyama City, Kure City, Higashi-Hiroshima City, and Onomichi City are concentrated in the south, golf courses are also built mainly in the hilly areas of the south, but they are also scattered along the Chugoku Expressway that runs in the mountainous areas.
It is convenient to get to Hiroshima by Shinkansen or plane and then access it by car.

Hiroshima is conveniently accessible by Sanyo Shinkansen or plane. The Sanyo Shinkansen has five stops in the prefecture (Hiroshima Station, Higashi-Hiroshima Station, Mihara Station, Shin-Onomichi Station, and Fukuyama Station). Hiroshima Airport operates regular flights to Tokyo (Haneda), Sapporo (New Chitose), Sendai, Okinawa (Naha), and Narita.
